The GeoBulb-3 is brighter and uses less energy than the GeoBulb-2 The GeoBulb-3 cool white LED light bulb uses 7 Watts of power to put out about as much light as a 50-Watt incandescent light bulb. You can use it in most places where you currently use an indoor, standard, screw-in 60-Watt bulb. You can install a GeoBulb to bring energy efficient lighting to a foyer, open ceiling cans or track lighting. It is still initially more costly than a compact fluorescent but the cost over the life of the bulb is getting close to the cost of using a compact fluorescent in some cases. A GeoBulb cost about 2 cents a day for 24 hours a day compared to 17 cents a day for incandescent. A few examples of best places to use the GeoBulb are in high ceilings where it is unsafe, costly and time consuming to change a light. The GeoBulb gives off most of its light evenly from the top of the bulb. You get your best return when you replace a bulb that is "on" most of the time. The GeoBulb gives off very little heat and turns on instantly at full brightness. There is no warm-up period like compact fluorescents. Once you install a GeoBulb, you don't have to think about changing it for up to five years even if used continuously. Unlike CFL's, the GeoBulb puts out a consistent color of light for the life of the bulb. It has no mercury, can be used in colder temperatures, and is built for maximum longevity. The GeoBulb is available in three color temperatures: Cool White, Warm White and Soft White, and is backed by a five-year limited warranty. The room temperature must not exceed 95°F for the warranty to be valid. In addition, the GeoBulb must be used in an open fixture for ventilation. Weight: 4.8 oz. Size: 4.7" H x 2.25" Dia. Note: The GeoBulb-3 is non-dimmable. Using this light bulb with a dimmer switch may damage the bulb. It must be used in a room temperature of less than 95°F and in an open ventilated fixture or it will void the warranty. |

* Lumen tests were performed by Luminaire Test Laboratory (LTL), one of the best testing labs in the United States. While LTL found the total lumens for a standard incandescent bulb to be higher, the Cool White GeoBulb® is about 25% brighter in the 0-90 degree quadrant which is one of the most important areas of usable light. The light output of the GeoBulb® was designed to point in primarily one direction based on our research of actual use.

I have been using these since December 2010. They are fantastic better then cfl as they are brighter and do not turn yellow as cfl do. I have noticed that one of the bulbs (as I purchased 3) is buzzing. It has since I’ve gotten it. It’s very light but I think it is the cheap table lamp it is in that might be the cause as the rest are quiet. I just ordered 2 of the PowerVivid to use as a light in my kitchen; one I can leave on for a few hours till bed. I’m sure they will be just as good. Love them love C.Crane, thank you.

Very nice, economical home lighting. If you're used to the white light of fluorescent bulb replacements, these will offer the same type with no toxic ingredients or damaging UV radiation.

I have been researching and using LED bulbs for about 9 years now, I have used everything from generation one bulbs to current day bulbs from all different manufacturers. I have found in the past LED bulbs were only suitable for accent lighting until now. These bulbs are a true 60 watt replacement bulb, I have a 26' tall barn that is 30' wide with an old school barn light out front, I have been looking for a proper LED built for this barn for the past 4 years, the Geo bulb works perfect and at 7 watts it cost me nothing to light the front of the barn each night. We have tried the bulb in our home as well, perfect for down-light fixtures and lamps and bathroom use. Not suitable for all applications as a regular bulb has about 50% light up and 50% light down, these bulbs do not have the same distribution and may not be suitable in some applications.

I bought one of these at first to test and i was pleasanly surprised. smooth look good quality feel, good fit, perfect lighting color, perfect 60 watt equivalent brightness and uses only 7 watts when other led brands including GE use about 9 and 12 watts and cost more. CFL equivalents use 13 watts. There are omly 2 things that could make this bulb better. First if it was dimmable and second having a choice of higher watt equivalents such as 75 and 100, and thats all.
